This is a complete list, alphabetised by surname, of everyone who has contributed to Monomyth in any way from the first issue until the present, with the numbers of which volumes (issues) they appeared in. For details of their contributions, and any other Atlantean publications they may have contributed to, see their individual pages. This list is up-to-date as of issue 54/volume 13.2.

History[]

Frequent Contributors[]

Notable contributors down the years have included:

Richard Burman Aeronwy Dafies DS Davidson AC Evans Cory Harding Pamela Harvey
Thomas Land Angela Morkos Ian O'Reilly Steve Sneyd DJ Tyrer Bill West

Name Variations[]

For the first ten issues, DJ Tyrer was credited as 'David Tyrer', as even the Editor-in-Chief had trouble overriding popular opinion as to what his name should be! He managed to change to DJ in the first Yearbook, and has appeared as such ever since.
Richard Burman, meanwhile, made many of his appearances under the by-line of 'Richard T. Burman' — and very occasionally as 'RT Burman', early Monomyths quite frequently seeing contributors credited by initials rather than a forename. (DJ Tyrer's case proving to be something of an inverse to this rule, obviously.)
Several other contributors have similarly appeared under subtly altering monikers over the years, such as in the case of Chris Catt James who has appeared as a full-length Christopher and also minus his Catt.

Numbering[]

Volume numbers (e.g. '2.1') are used here to sidestep the Monomyth Numbering Confusion, which arose from Atlantean altering several early Monomyths' issue numbers after-the-fact (e.g. 'Issue 12' was originally known as 11), due to belatedly incorporating the magazine's two already-published Yearbooks into the count. For those affected issues, the 'absolute' numbers that resulted (under which all issues appear on their individual pages on this site) deviate by either one or two from their original on-cover numbering. Subsequent to this change, each instalment published during the next three years carried a pair of slightly differing numbers, to reflect both 'before' and 'after' versions of the numbering scheme.
To avoid problematic questions of "which scheme is being referred to?", the volume designations were introduced at the same time — using a wholly separate system, which denotes any given issue by the formula [year of release].[issue number within that year]: the fiftieth overall release is 11.2 for example.

Technically, year here means 'Monomyth-year', i.e. the number of annual schedules'-worth of publications put out since the magazine began (which in the second Volume's case, for instance, took much longer than the twelve months expected)... but a happy coincidence brought about by the Great Monomyth Hiatus was to align these with the calendar, since the 'zine returned for its 'Year 3' at the start of 2003. Therefore, although Volume 1 as a whole (1.1–1.11) covers December 1996 to December 1997 and Volume 2 (2.1–2.12) spans early '98 to mid-2000, everyone listed below as appearing in Volumes 3 to 13 inclusive has done so in 2003 to 2013 respectively.

Volume 1 includes its intended eleven issues, but Volume 2 includes twelve thanks to a quirk of the timing of the hiatus. Post-hiatus publication rates were cut back as Atlantean diversified its range of 'zines and other publications so Volumes 3, 5 & 6 incorporate only four issues apiece, although amid this Volume 4 featured another quirk (the Thirtieth Issue(s) of Monomyth) meaning it has five! Volumes 7 to 13 cover just two instalments each.

To match volume numbers to issue numbers, see the table of Issues and Covers on the Monomyth main page.
